I stumbled upon this industry completely by chance. As a finance and accounting major, marketing wasn't even on my radar. My first exposure to that sector in any form was right here in our company. Of course, I had heard about marketing automation before, but I didn't fully grasp what it entailed.
I must admit, the beginning wasn't a walk in the park. I had to quickly absorb numerous concepts and complex processes, as well as predict the results of the marketing campaigns prepared for clients. Nevertheless, I can't recall a single situation where I felt overwhelmed by the workload or completely lost. I think when you take those first steps, everything might seem a little fuzzy, but with practice, it all starts to make sense.
The Marketing Automation Platform I use daily is Marketo. Mastering the basics of this program takes time, not to mention the more advanced features. I've been working with Marketo for about 1.5 years now, and I'm still discovering new possibilities. However, after about 6 months on the job, I started to feel pretty confident in what I was doing. The training sessions conducted by the Team I joined played a significant role in that. They were delivered in such a clear and straightforward manner that even a marketing automation newbie could get the job done. Needless to say, the training didn't cover every possible scenario, as the diversity of cases is basically limitless. But whenever I had doubts, I could always turn to more experienced teammates for advice.
In my opinion, working at Ivenium Marketing is not as intimidating as it may seem at first, especially for newcomers to the job market. Here you can gain valuable experience that will undoubtedly pay off in the future. We operate in an international environment and work on projects with global impact. Our company offers every employee the opportunity for long-term development. From the beginning, we know what our career paths at Ivenium can look like and what financial ranges are available for each role. Another great thing is that we get to become certified in the software we work with. I'm planning to sign up for Marketo certification soon, and I'll look into Cvent if the opportunity arises.
It's worth noting that we're not a massive corporation where employees are treated as cogs in a machine. Ivenium consists of several dozen people organized into small teams. Our Team Leaders regularly engage with us to ensure our comfort at work and encourage us to voice any needs or suggestions. This creates a sense that each one of us is valued and essential to the company.
It only took six months for me to be entrusted with fully remote work. I gladly take advantage of this possibility because it's much easier for me to concentrate in the comfort of my home. And just to clarify –it doesn't mean I don't enjoy spending time with my colleagues! We communicate daily, and our conversations always happen in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Lastly, I suspect that many young people may have doubts about taking a job that requires daily use of English. Before joining Ivenium, I didn't have regular exposure to the language either. Apart from school and a summer job in the Netherlands, my contact with English was mainly limited to movies, TV shows, and games. So, don't let it become an insurmountable obstacle because it definitely isn't. No one gets thrown in at the deep end right away. New employees are introduced to everything gradually, so there's really nothing to worry about
